Foundation is facilitating charitable, social and civic
causes.
| | What Seniors need ? |
Due to
changes in family structure of social
trends, urbanization, migration and work-oriented, materialistic
life-style of
the present generation caring for the elderly @ home has become a
serious challenge. Apart from good shelter, appropriate food, the
SENIORS
need proper care and sincere concern. Members of their
family, busy with their own work and children, are unable and
unwilling
to spend quality time with them.
Therefore, older ones feel uncared for
and are depressed. Even those who own homes
and are financially secure have to live alone and manage their
life on
their own. This is becoming increasingly difficult.
They would like to interact, be heard, be visible
and need emotional bonding in their sunset
years. | | Towards this end, Wecare is focusing on:- |
- Service to
Seniors;
- Spreading information relating
to "Way to Wellness - Aging Gracefully";
- Meaningful
interaction with seniors about their emotional and physical challenges,
as a means to give them some moral support;
- Supporting
Seniors' Homes and providing information to Seniors about the
facilities available.

promoted by Sri. Pattoo Srinivasan, a Retired UN
Civil Servant and an International Banker with over 35 years' exposure
to developing and Least-developed economies. |
